HELTASA, or the Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of Southern Africa, operates under a constitution that outlines its governance structure and mechanisms. 1. Advisory Board

2. Coordinating Council

The Coordinating Council is responsible for both strategic and operational management within HELTASA. This council oversees the day-to-day affairs and ensures alignment with the association’s constitutional objectives. It comprises key office bearers, project teams coordinators, leads, and administrators. The council convenes meetings periodically to deliberate on matters pertinent to HELTASA’s mission and direction.

3. Project Teams

Project teams are instrumental in executing decisions made by the Coordinating Council. Comprised of various roles such as project leads, scholarly practitioners, researchers, and strategists, these teams operationalise the association’s objectives. They actively engage in initiatives to enhance learning and teaching practices, foster collaboration, and organise events aligned with HELTASA’s aims.

4. Membership

HELTASA membership is open to individuals who share a mutual interest in the association’s objectives. Membership is granted upon payment of an annual fee and is subject to adherence to the association’s ethos and values.
