The Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching MOOC provides new university teachers with key introductory learning and teaching concepts and strategies. The MOOC was established by National Teaching Fellow Associate, Professor Kym Fraser. This year, the MOOC is being hosted by the Council of Australasian Leaders of Learning and Teaching (CAULLT) and co-led by Associate Professors Marina Harvey and Agnes Bosanquet.
This self-paced MOOC is comprised of 11 expert-developed modules and several specialty modules and resources that are designed to equip participants with the skills they need to excel at university teaching. Topics covered include planning for learning, supporting online learning, feedback for learning and curriculum design. While the course can be done at the pace of the participant’s choosing, and in their own time, as and when needed, they are encouraged to engage with the MOOC for two hours a week across the semester.

- Determine strategies to support student-centred teaching
- Identify teaching and learning resources to support your practice
Target Audience:
- This course is for colleagues who are in the first few years of university teaching.
- This may include academics, faculty, research students, librarians, IT staff or a host of other roles which have a university teaching component.
